What Makes a Fish a Fish? All Ages
Program Leader: Melanie Meade, South Fork Natural History Museum (SOFO) Education & Outreach Coordinator
Fish come in many sizes, shapes, and colors. They can have wide tails or tails that are pointed; some have huge shiny scales and some have none. Some are only one color and some have stripes or spots. But no matter how different they look, they all have some things about them that are the same—the things that make them all fish. Learn about the characteristics all fish share and about what makes each fish special. Create your own fishy creature with funny fins, a crazy mouth and googly eyes. Make your fish as special or as strange as you want. Materials fee $3
SOFO Members: Programs are free unless otherwise specified. Non-Members: Adults $10, Children $7.50 (Ages 3-12), Ages 2 & under free. This fee includes admission to the museum, in addition to the program.
