This lecture will take place in-person in Duke Lecture Hall inside Chancellor's Hall on the SBU Southampton campus & on Zoom!

The abstract appears below. We hope to see you there!

Urbanisation of coastal areas is increasing worldwide. Understanding how species respond to urbanization is key to assessing overall impacts of coastal urban areas, including influences on regional wildlife behavior and ecosystem structure. Gulls are broadly considered strong urban adapters, though the degree to which urban habitats are utilized varies between gull species. This provides the opportunity to use gulls as model species to better understand how urban habitat use may influence aspects of animal behavior, biology, and trophic interactions.
