Springs residents will share the history of the Crandall-Norfolk Woodlands, approximately seven acres of woodlands known as “the pit” to local residents. For decades, the woodlands, where Jackson Pollock Is rumored to have biked through on many occasions, have been the jewel of this local neighborhood. Learn about efforts to preserve the woodlands from development and experience their natural beauty. Preserving what's left of the woodlands is especially important because of the local area's density and proximity to the commercial corridor on Fort Pond Blvd. Attendees can opt for an approximately half a mile guided hike through the woodlands or a guided walk along the perimeter. Meet at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Norfolk Street. Contact Alex Rodriguez 212.602.1936 for more details.
