The St. Luke’s Summer Family Fair, which was first staged on July 4, 1886, will return to East Hampton on July 6 from 10AM to 2 PM. As it has for more than 100 years, the oldest continually staged fair in East Hampton will put smiles on hundreds of faces.
This year’s impressive lineup of entertainment and activities will include the Goat on a Boat Puppet Theater, a magic show, circus acts, art workshops, face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, and a water slide. In addition, there will be exciting performances by Alexo the Magician, Keith the Fire Juggler, Wendy the Pipe Cleaner Design Lady, and terrific music by the Popsicles.
No one will go away hungry from the fair, for there will plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs, clams on the half shell, mini waffles, clam chowder, Mister Softee ice cream, and local baked cookies, cakes, brownies, and more.
For fashionistas, the fair will also have tables selling jewelry, furs, gowns, and a wide variety of often one-of-a-kind collectibles. And if one can’t attend the fair, there will be a silent auction at https://e.givesmart.com/events/xUZ/ There will also be an opportunity to view and purchase jewelry and collectibles on Friday, July 5, at 3:30 PM.
While the fair is all fun and games, it also has a serious purpose: each year, the fair raises money for important local charities. And this year will be no different. A portion of proceeds will go to Maureen’s Haven, The Retreat, and local food pantries.
The St. Luke’s Fair will take place at 18 James Lane, East Hampton. For further information, please visit www. stlukeseasthampton.org
