More than 20 chefs hailing from Manhattan to the Hamptons will be cooking a food lover’s dream tasting event at the Hayground School in Bridgehampton on Sunday, July 28, for the “2013 Chefs Dinner.”
Now in its ninth year, the annual fundraiser for Jeff’s Kitchen and the Jeff Salaway Scholarship Fund will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in a tent on the school grounds. A few of the many notable chefs cooking at the fundraiser include: Josh Capon of Lure Fish Bar; Arjun Achuthan of the Hayground School; Tom Colicchio and Ty Kotz of Topping Rose House; Bryan Futerman of Foody’s; Joel Hough of Il Bucco; Jason Weiner of Almond; Matt Michel of Rolling in Dough Pizza; Joe Realmuto of Nick & Toni’s; Davie Simmons of Uptown Juice Bar; Cheryl Stair of Art of Eating; Roy Wohlars of The Riverhead Project; Marc Murphy of Benchmarc Restaurants; and Christian Mir of Stone Creek Inn.
Chef Eric Ripert will be honored afterward during a four-course VIP dinner from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the home of Toni Ross, wife of the late Mr. Salaway, who co-founded the Hayground School. The dinner will also feature a wine pairing designed by Le Bernardin sommelier Aldo Sohm. Confirmed chefs for the VIP dinner include: Claudia Fleming of North Fork Table and Inn; Justin Smillie of Il Bucco Alimentari e Vineria; Michael Cavaniola of Cavaniola’s Gourmet Cheese Shop; Kerry Heffernan, a “Top Chef Masters” finalist; Stefan Karlsson of Fond; and Taku Sato of Nobu 57.
