Memorable Meal at Library

Terry Toscano, a local home cook with a certificate in health counseling, will present “A Memorable Meal for the New Year” on Wednesday, January 20, at noon at the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton. The meal was originally scheduled for January 13. Reservations are required; call 283-0774, ext. 523.

Slow Food Membership Dinner

The annual Slow Food membership dinner will be held Sunday, January 17, at 6 p.m. at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor. The cost is $60 for Slow Food members and $70 for non-members, gratuity included, limited to 60 reservations. Applications to join or renew memberships will be available at the dinner.

The agenda calls for a review of the past year at the national and local levels, and a call for nominations for expanding the local leadership. Nomination forms will be sent via e-mail and will be due by April 15.

For reservations or more information, call 725-3535.

Wine Tasting at Robert’s

Advanced sommelier Chris Miller and Paul De Verna of Hamptons Wine Shoppe will be hosting one of the Wine Shoppe’s complimentary wine tastings on Friday, January 22, at 6 p.m. at Robert’s restaurant on Montauk Highway in Water Mill.

The goal of these tastings is to showcase the top 10 to 15 labels the two men have been impressed by over the last 30 days and to share them, and some of their expertise, with other wine lovers, who are invited to stay for dinner. Robert’s has offered to extend its three-course, $33 prix fixe menu for all who attend this event.

For more information or to make a reservation, call 726-7171.

Restaurant Week

The eighth annual Hamptons Restaurant Week will begin on Sunday, March 21, and run through Sunday, March 28. For eight days before the start of East End restaurateurs’ busy season, participating restaurants offer their own unique three-course prix fixe menus all night, except Saturday when it will only be offered until 7 p.m.

Wineries, lodging facilities and spas all take part in the promotion by offering a variety of discounts.
