The Southampton Arts Center (SAC) will continue its screenings of 2019 Academy Award nominees for Best Documentary Feature on Friday, April 5 at 7 p.m. with RaMell Ross’s “Hale County This Morning, This Evening.” The documentary follows Daniel Collins and Quincy Bryant, two young African-American men from rural Alabama, over the course of five years. The audience witnesses both the mundane and monumental in the two men’s lives, and ultimately experiences a new way of seeing the heat and the hearts of people in the Black Belt region of the southern U.S. and as far beyond.

Admission to the film is $10 ($7 Friends of SAC) at Southampton Arts Center, 25 Jobs Lane, Southampton Village. The series concludes at SAC on April 12 with the 2019 winner of the Academy Award, “Free Solo,” Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi’s harrowing documentary about climber Alex Honnold and his attempt to climb the sheer rock face of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without a rope.
