Real estate firm The Corcoran Group and short-distance aviation company Blade are partnering to offer free flights to the Hamptons for select clients to scope out summer rentals.

The Sunday, April 9, roundtrip helicopter flights from Manhattan to the East End are available to customers who are in the market for rentals that start at $150,000 for the season.

“We have a lot of high-end rental properties available and a lot of clients who are in prime looking season, so we wanted to make it a little easier for them to go out and see what’s available,” said Corcoran President and CEO Pamela Liebman. In turn, it would be a good way for Blade to expose people to its service, she added.

Blade is an app-based business that allows anyone with a smartphone to book a seat on a helicopter for a quick flight. Many Blade takeoff locations have lounges where customers can have a bite or drink while waiting to depart.

“I have utilized the service myself and I have many friends who utilize it,” Ms. Liebman said of Blade, later adding, “It’s a very upscale feeling and it’s a really nice ride. Once you get to that lounge, you feel like you’re already starting to chill out for the weekend.”

The response to Corcoran’s offer has been very good so far, and multiple clients are already scheduled to fly, she said. “We’re just looking to take our service to the next level and we hope the clients find it to be an appealing addition.”

Each client can preselect three properties to tour from a catalog of 90. After landing, Corcoran agents will provide personal tours of the properties then take the clients back to the helipad for the return trip to Manhattan.

The flight from Manhattan to East Hampton Airport—where Blade has a customer lounge—typically takes 43 minutes via helicopter, according to Blade’s website. The service would normally cost $695 roundtrip.

If there is demand for it, Corcoran will also plan Blade flights to the Meadow Lane helipad in Southampton and the Gabreski Airport in Westhampton, Ms. Liebman said.
