An oceanfront home in Wainscott’s coveted Georgica Association neighborhood hit the market this week for $37 million.

Set back from the dune and overlooking both the ocean and Georgica Pond, the two-story residence with six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms is outfitted with modern amenities and “elegant detailing,” according to the listing for 38 Association Road.

The house has tall ceilings with exposed wood beams with wood details throughout. Wide porches and outdoor areas capture ocean views, and the property also has a pool and a detached two-car garage.

The neighborhood is protected by a guarded entry gate and a single road in and out, and the association offers tennis, sailing, baseball and a clubhouse.

Ed Petrie, James Petrie and Charles Forsman of Compass have the exclusive listing.

The 2-acre property was previously the site of the guesthouse to Kilkare, a 143-year-old manse that has been seen in the films “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “The Nanny Diaries.” Kilkare sold at the very end of 2019 for $24.3 million after being listed for $55 million in 2017. Kilkare’s longtime owners were the late Michael J. Kennedy — a criminal defense attorney and High Times magazine’s counsel as well as Ivana Trump’s divorce lawyer — and his widow, Eleanora. They sold the guesthouse property in 2001 for $6 million to the current owner, and the guest cottage was then razed to develop the residence that stands there today, built in 2006. Mr. Kennedy died in 2016.

Tips for Avoiding Rental Scams

Rental scams are pervasive, targeting both those seeking permanent housing and those seeking a quick getaway or seasonal lease.
