A 1.7-acre Sagaponack property with an existing house but coveted for the land itself recently sold for $7.65 million with a last asking price of $8.5 million.

The contemporary house, built in the early 1990s, is 4,900 square feet with an accompanying heated pool, and remained in the same family for 30 years. But according to the listing, the property can yield an approximately 10,000-square-foot house on three levels — a 3,500-square-foot ground floor, a 3,000-square-foot upper level and a nearly 3,000-square foot finished lower level. Plus, there’s room for a pool, pool house and tennis court.

The address is 139 Old Barn Lane, which is at the end of a cul-de-sac off Hedges Lane.

Corcoran associate broker Gary DePersia had the listing. He said 139 Old Barn Lane is “a wonderful property because it presented to a buyer the opportunity to purchase a teardown in a coveted location and build a substantial house along with a tennis court and only a short distance to the ocean.”

The deal closed on September 6, according to Suffolk Vision Inc., which reported that the seller was Diane Eisenberg Trust and the new owner is Edlen Fo LLC.
