A newly renovated and expanded Bridgehampton residence has fetched an even $4 million after coming on the market a little more than a year ago for $5 million.

Located at 28 Hildreth Avenue south of Montauk Highway, the 4,100-square-foot house with six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms was recently updated by Sag Harbor’s T&S Mott General Contracting, according to the Sotheby’s listing.

The living room with a 22-foot vaulted ceiling has a cupola and a Rumsford wood fireplace. The sunroom, adjacent to the dining room, comes with a wet bar. The dining room opens to a chef’s kitchen and a butler’s pantry appointed with a LaCanche French range, a Wolf steam oven, Sub-Zero refrigerators and an ice maker, two Miele dishwashers, two stone farm sinks and a Francois & Co. range hood.

The master suite is in its own wing on the main floor and has a gas fireplace, an en-suite bath and French doors to a patio with a fire pit and outdoor shower.

A junior master is upstairs as well as three additional bedrooms.

The lower level has a family room, an en-suite bedroom, radiant heated floors and a secure storage area with potential as a wine cellar.

The gunite pool is heated and the grounds feature a fountain, mature specimen trees, patios, gardens and gas-burning lights.

The seller was the Michael Sarkozi Trust and the buyer was Paul Cheesbrough, according to The Real Estate Report Inc.

The London-born Mr. Cheesbrough is the chief technology officer and president of digital for Fox Corporation, which was spun off in May from 21st Century Fox. The new standalone public company includes Fox News, Fox Entertainment, Fox Sports and Fox TV Stations, the latter of which operates 28 broadcast television stations in the United States.

Michael Sarkozi is an investment banker who spent $2.2 million on modernizing and doubling the size of the 1920s cottage that he had purchased back in 2013 for $2 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. If that’s the case, he lost $200,000 on the sale.

It was last asking $4.5 million. Associate broker Sharon Stern had the listing.

North of the Highway in Bridgehampton, 78 Birchwood Lane has sold for $3.25 million from CVR First LLC to Marcela and Lawrence Simon. The last price was $3.5 million with Corcoran.

The triple gambrel traditional by McDonough & Conroy Architects in Bridgehampton has eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms and two half-baths. It’s 5,864 square feet on 0.57 acre and comes with a 20-by-40-foot heated pool.

The gourmet kitchen has an oversized island, top-of-the-line appliances and custom cabinetry. All three levels, including the finished basement, have custom molding and trim throughout. Susan Breitenbach and Cutter Koster had the listing for Corcoran.

Also in Bridgehampton, the saltbox house at 446 Butter Lane has gone up for sale.

Saltbox is a Colonial style of architecture that originated in New England, according to the Library of Congress. A traditional saltbox has two stories in front and one in back, and a pitched roof that is short and high in front and long and low in back.

The house on Butter Lane on a shy acre has three bedrooms, a double-height ceiling on the ground floor, and an open living, dining and kitchen area. It faces southwest so it catches the East End light wonderfully through new windows and skylights.

The master with a newly renovated bath has access to the heated pool.

This also happens to be a Sotheby’s listing. The asking price is $2.25 million.
