An oceanfront home on Sagaponack’s coveted Daniels Lane recently sold for $16 million, following a summer when it was asking for $800,000 to rent for the season.
Singer and beauty titan Rihanna was among the prospective renters of 719 Daniels Lane this year, according to the New York Post, though she ultimately passed.
On 0.75 acre with a new beach retaining wall, the modern residence is 4,300 square feet with four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The builder was Greg D’Angelo Construction in Wainscott.
The house was designed to require no unsightly gutters or leaders to redirect water from rainfall, and it has hurricane-rated triple-pane windows and doors with UV protective tint. New motorized shades provide black-out level sun-blocking.
The front door is mahogany and the floors are 8-inch-wide plank rift and quartered French white oak.
Smart home technology includes a top-of-the-line speaker system, a security system and a flood detection system, and the house has central air and a home theater as well.
Among the amenities outdoors are mahogany decking and a gunite saltwater pool with a waterfall spa and limestone pool steps and surroundings.
Bespoke Real Estate had the listing. The last list price was $18.5 million; the final sales price of $16 million works out to a 13.5 percent discount.
The sellers were Melissa and Anthony Blumberg and the new owner is MRB ICBC LLC, according to The Real Estate Report Inc. The sale closed on September 11.
