All of us year-round residents look forward to after Labor Day, when we can “reclaim” our village and enjoy the roads, the water — and Sag HarborFest.
I fondly remember the days when the kids were little and HarborFest was such a big deal to them. For me, getting to walk on Long Wharf with a beer in hand was a treat, as well!
My husband and I have volunteered under different tents over the years and participated and watched the whaleboat races. This village event is fun for all.
Which is why I am so disappointed to see the whale spray-painted with a partisan slogan. I am hoping that the person who did that work can come forward and claim it proudly — and pay for a repainting.
