Disinformation

We live on Stock Farm Lane and have been battling the cellphone tower issue for almost two years. Candidate Terie Diat has been spearheading the cell tower being placed behind Village Hall (next to a playground, near Genet Creek and off Stock Farm Lane).

Her lack of transparency on this issue should be addressed. The fact that residents were not told where or when they were planning on erecting this tower, or if requests for proposals were made, etc., should be highlighted. We have been told that she vigorously intends on pursuing a cellphone tower being built behind Village Hall if she gets elected.

Her stealth approach on the subject is not hearsay — it is in writing. In an email, she refers to my post on the NextDoor app. We had a home in Noyac last year but have been residents of North Haven for almost five years. She said she was “concerned about the disinformation campaign that is underway.”

If anything, it was and still is her disinformation campaign that voters should not just be concerned by, but they also should be made fully aware of her back-door stealth tactics.

As a journalist and as a former trial attorney, I would like to ask Ms. Diat: If elected, do you plan on having a cellphone tower erected behind Village Hall, off Stock Farm Lane? If not in that location, do you plan on pursuing a cellphone tower elsewhere? Will you let residents know about different locations being researched and about requests for proposals?

And will you erect a tower in North Haven Manor, in your own backyard? It is one of the highest points. Why or why not?
