I am writing to ask the Village of North Haven residents for their votes for me, John “Jack” F. Reiser, on June 21.
Many issues have been raised that separate me from my two opponents: cellphone towers, leaf pick-up, clearing restrictions, shoreline structures, backpack blowers and Lovelady Powell Park are real issues. They need to be discussed and a majority consensus reached. Rushing these things through will only cause mistakes.
If you do not know me, please drop by Village Hall and realize what can be done with transparency and consensus. In 1990, when I was mayor, we were under the gun when we were told to vacate the space above the Suffolk County National Bank that was used as our Village Hall. We took the time to reach out and listen to village residents.
In the end, the building you are now voting in was the unanimous choice. We used North Haven architect Fred Stelle to design the building, and we built it on time and under budget. It has served us well for 30 years.
I have no agenda other than to serve the residents of North Haven. I hope I can count on your vote.
John “Jack” F. Reiser
North Haven
Reiser is a candidate for mayor of North Haven Village — Ed.
