Russell T. Miller Sr.
Russell T. Miller Sr. of Sag Harbor died on January 16. He was 85.
He was born on July 18, 1938 in East Hampton to George and Phoebe Miller. He later moved to Sag Harbor, where he was a resident for 56 years.
He was a graduate of East Hampton High School. After school, he served in the U.S. Navy for 10 years.
He was married to Geraldine Miller (Bennett), who predeceased him.
He was an electric motor mechanic, and owned Suffolk Electric Motors in Sag Harbor. After he sold that business and retired, he worked at the Sag Harbor Golf Club for 20 years.
He enjoyed playing golf, clamming and spending time outdoors. He loved being with family and friends and playing cards at the Sag Harbor Fire Department with friends.
He was a member of Sag Harbor Fire Department Gazelle Hose Company No. 1 and a founding member of the Sag Harbor Fire Department Rescue Squad.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by five siblings. He is survived by his son, Russell T. Miller Jr. of Hampton Bays; his daughter, Tracy Miller of Florida; and his grandson, Russell T. Miller III.
Firematic services and a celebration of life were held on February 3 at the Sag Harbor Firehouse.
