SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Village Police responded to a complaint that there was an unknown vehicle in a parking lot outside a Main Street address that had been there for several days. The officer sent to investigate the call found the vehicle, which had no license plates. The officer tried to contact the owner through the information on the registration that was posted in the windshield. SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Police investigating reports of graffiti in the area of the Route 114 bridge on Sunday evening came across a group of juveniles beneath the bridge, armed with paint, brushes and chalk. Police contacted the parents of the juveniles, warning both parents and offspring not to make graffiti. SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — An employee at a business on Bay Street came to police headquarters on Division Street on Saturday afternoon to report that he had been victimized by a phone scam. The man told police that he had received a call from his daughter who reported being contacted by the Atlanta Police Department. The caller identified himself to the man’s daughter as a lieutenant and told the woman that there was a warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court after being cited for two violations she had been written up for in February of this ...

SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Police were called to a boutique on Main Street late last Thursday afternoon where the shop owner said three teens had gone on a shoplifting spree, stealing several pieces of jewelry valued at a little over $200. When police arrived, two of the teens were still in the store, while the third was across the street. An officer escorted the teen who was outside the store back inside. SAG HARBOR VILLAGE — Sag Harbor Village Police, working with the New York State Police Department’s computer crimes unit, are investigating a series of false alarm 911 phone calls they have received over the past couple of months. Police dispatch received yet another one of these calls, termed “swatting,” last week. As was the case previously, the caller reported a man with a gun in the area of Main Street, who, the caller said, was holding a female hostage.
