A Helping Hand

I work at Southampton Intermediate School, and I write in support of Heart of the Hamptons’ work and its new facility at 44 Meeting House Lane.

I have had the pleasure of working with this organization for many years to meet the needs of local students. Every year, Heart of the Hamptons supplies gift cards, clothing, shoes, supplies and more to Southampton schools to ensure that our students have what they need to feel good about themselves and get the most out of school.

We are in constant communication to make sure none of our families goes without basic essentials. When a need arises, it is incredibly reassuring to know that Heart of the Hamptons is always willing to offer a helping hand.

Every year, the Southampton Intermediate School hosts Run for Hunger to benefit Heart of the Hamptons. Run for Hunger encourages students, teachers and their families to come together to support the year-round food pantry. In addition, Run for Hunger allows our students to learn more about the important work Heart of the Hamptons accomplishes by directly supporting their classmates and local families.

I am incredibly grateful for the school’s partnership with Heart of the Hamptons and have seen firsthand the impact this organization has on our community. I encourage Mayor Jesse Warren, the Board of Trustees and the community to support Heart of the Hamptons’ move to 44 Meeting House Lane. With safe walkways from both the Southampton Elementary School and the intermediate school, this is the perfect location for this vital organization to continue to serve local students and families.
