Catherine Laura Armusewicz Abbott, formerly of Southampton, died August 6, 2019, of ovarian cancer. She was diagnosed four years ago.
She moved to Buffalo in 1981 to attend Daemen College and stayed making Buffalo her home. She was employed by Multisorb Technologies/Filtration Group for more than 20 years as a machine operator.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Charles Abbott of Buffalo; a daughter, Olivia Abbott of Buffalo; stepsons, Graham Abbott and Riley Abbott, both of the Buffalo area, for whom, survivors said, she proudly wore the title of “wicked stepmother.” She is also survived by her stepmother, Patricia Armusewicz; brother Richard Armusewicz; and sisters, Patricia (Stephen) D’Angelo and Christine (Joshua) Dill; Mary (Henry) Adamczyk and Linda (Steven) O’Brien, both of Southampton; three nieces, nine nephews; aunts, Judith Musnicki of Bridgehampton and Ann Musnicki of Lynbrook; many neighbors, coworkers and church friends. She also leaves her cats. She was predeceased by her parents, Richard Armusewicz and Joan Musnicki-Armusewicz.
A memorial gathering will be held soon at a place and date to be announced.
