Changes in the Air

Two years ago, I was honored to have been elected to the role of Southampton Village trustee. Now, two years later, I am honored once again to be running for reelection. It has been a privilege to serve this community that I call home.

When I first ran for office, I campaigned on a vision: a vision of unity, progress and respect for every village resident. I’m proud to say that I have fulfilled this vision over my two years on the board. Whether through my work as the board’s safety liaison, the Coopers Beach liaison, or the arts and culture liaison, I have worked tirelessly to improve quality of life for all of Southampton Village.

The common thread behind my work in Village Hall is my ability to build relationships. My humanitarian background allows me to bring kindness and empathy to each interaction, informing my work in Village Hall and beyond.

In my role as safety liaison, I’ve been proud to support our police and first responders in Village Hall. I have continued to build relationships with our village workforce and first responders, assuring that the workforce is diverse and inclusive and that all workers feel respected and appreciated.

I also know that traffic is an important issue to village residents. I’ve kept safety first by inspecting commercial vehicles to assure that our pedestrians and streets are safe. My work has helped to reduce traffic on our village streets.

As Coopers Beach liaison, I have helped preserve our pristine, beautiful beaches with dune grass plantings. In tandem with the amazing team at Coopers, we generated $2.3 million in revenue from Coopers Beach. Our efforts have resulted in Coopers Beach being ranked the No. 3 beach in the nation for 2023.

Although we’ve already made lots of progress, there is still so much more that I look forward to doing. Going forward, I hope to work with my fellow trustees to continue applying for grants for downtown revitalization and beautification.

As both a village resident and a trustee, I know that this election matters to you: Important changes are in the air in Southampton Village, and it is my pleasure to work with you all to ensure the change you want to see. I would be honored to bring us all together as I share my ideas with this lovely village.

I hope I can count on your support this Friday, June 16, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Southampton Cultural Center at 25 Pond Lane. We are, indeed, better together.
