Claire Joan Weston of Westhampton Beach died on November 23 following a short battle with cancer. She was 76.
Born on March 11, 1938, in Queens, Ms. Weston grew up in nearby Elmont. After graduating from Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, she worked at the New York Telephone Company for many years. In 1967, she married Lloyd Weston, and they relocated to Westhampton Beach three years later, along with their daughter, Kim.
Ms. Weston spent many fulfilling years as a stay-at-home mother, having two more daughters, Keri and Krissy. She also worked as a waitress at Baby Moon Restaurant for many years. Eventually she became a medical assistant for several prominent East End physicians before retiring in 2011 to help take care of her grandchildren.
In the local community, Ms. Weston was loved, admired and respected by all whose lives she touched, survivors said.
In addition to her husband of 47 years, Lloyd Weston, she is survived by daughters, Kim Williams, Keri Shiu and husband John, and Krissy Amilov and husband Michael; and siblings, James Hulse of Virginia and Barbara Testa-Sparacia of Florida. She is also survived by a goddaughter, Lacey Cain of Ohio; two nieces, Colleen Fletcher of Virginia and Kelly DeMille of Massachusetts; and five grandchildren, Kennedy, Jack, Justin, Evan and Alexa Claire.
Visitation will be at Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on Wednesday, November 26, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment will be Friday, November 28, at Calverton National Cemetery.
