South Fork Natural History Museum (SOFO) hosted a nature storytelling and art workshop inclusive of children from underserved communities. The event was led by a local best-selling author, Ingrid Simunic, with Leah Oppenheimer of the Children’s Museum of the East End.

There was a self-guided tour of the Home Sweet Home Museum before the cemetery visit, and a visit to The Baker House 1650 for cider and cake after. The New York Marine Rescue Center will hold its annual Oceans of Hope Gala on Friday, May 3, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Long Island Aquarium. This year’s honoree is John v.H. New Fundraising Initiative Launched by i-tri

The community-based program i-tri, which fosters self-respect, personal empowerment, self-confidence, positive body image and healthy lifestyle choices for middle school-aged girls, has announced “Help Her Cross the Finish Line,” a spring fundraising campaign that kicked off at the group’s recent Mentoring Day.
