John ‘Barley’ Dunne of the East Hampton Shellfish Hatchery took a group of East Hampton Middle School students, members of the Surfrider group, out on Northwest Harbor on October 20, to seed the harbor with 25,000 oysters. Accompanying them were trustees Susan McGraw Keber and John Aldred, with paddle boards provided by Gina Bradley of Paddle Diva. KYRILE BROMLEY
On October 22 VFW Post 5350 partnered with Raynor Country Day School staff, students, parents, military members and veterans to highlight and support the VFW STOP 22 program which aims to bring awareness to and help eliminate the deaths by suicide that have been occurring in our military and veteran population. A total of 200 supporters all walked for 22 minutes on the Raynor campus and contributed monetarily to the STOP22 program.

On October 16 Joseph Sledge, benefit specialist at Northport V.A. Medical Center, hosted two sessions of veteran benefits seminars to inform veterans and their spouses about health care services and benefits to which they are entitled.
