Dale Catherine Romer of Hampton Bays died on April 18. She was 67.
Born on November 2, 1955, in West Babylon to Angelo and Dorothy DiVito, she was one of 11 children. She was the embodiment of family and prioritized hers throughout her life. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished sister, and faithful friend, her family said.
Outside of spending time with her family and faithful dog, Nellie, her interests included trips to Key West, morning walks over the Ponquogue Bridge, and evenings with her book club.
She is survived by her husband, Howard Romer; daughters Amelia Romer-Bauhs and Davianna Romer; son Virgil Romer; granddaughter Eleanor Bauhs; her mother, Dorothy DiVito; sisters Dawn Oates, Deborah DiVito-DiGregorio and Darcy DiVito-Quappe; brothers Daniel DeVito, Dennis DiVito, Dion DiVito and Douglas DiVito; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Angelo DiVito; sisters Dina Vignone and Donna DiVito; and brother David DiVito.
Memorial visitations were held on April 23 at the Scott Rothwell Funeral Home; and a funeral Mass was celebrated on April 24 at St. Rosalie Roman Catholic Church in Hampton Bays.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org), would be appreciated by the family.
