Donald Bruce Frost Jr., known as “Frosty” and originally from
Hampton Bays, died on May 7 in Florida, surrounded by family after a long illness. He was 63.
Born April 9, 1953, in Mineola, he was the son of Donald Bruce Frost Sr. and Joan Frost-Granuzzo. He graduated from Hampton Bays High School in 1972. He was most at home on the sea and, for many years, he worked as a commercial fisherman off the coasts of Massachusetts, Montauk, Hampton Bays and Florida. When on land, he worked in construction and at his leisure enjoyed making beautiful seascape carvings for friends and family.
Mr. Frost is survived by his children, Justin and wife Jeanie LaWall, Dylan Frost, Melissa Frost of Florida, and Sarah and husband Todd Pidgeon of
Glenns Falls; former spouse, Jami White-Frost Florida; and siblings, Linda DeRosa of East Quogue, Nancy and husband John Raynor, Priscilla Hendrickson, Kevin and wife Kim Frost of Hampton Bays, Michele and husband Al Klager of Vero Florida; and his mother, Joan Frost-Granuzzo of Florida.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hayden and Davin LaWall, Camden
Frost, Courtney and Janelle Morgan, Michael Frost, Jarrett, Ethan and Avery
Pidgeon; aunts and uncles, Robert and Sandra Prezleski, and Robert Marcks; cousins, John and Patty Prezleski, Kathleen Juidice, Sandra and Andrew
Fagereng, Lorraine Prezleski, Danny and Tammy Prezleski, and James Marcks; nieces and nephews, Joyce and Christie Klager, Jennifer Hendrickson, Michael
and Kalen Raynor, Brian Raynor, Andrew and Carolyn Raynor, and Kevin Hendrickson; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Tristen Maffia, Kaya and Carissa Raynor, Jaiden, Maison, and Layla DeRosa, and Isabelle Slechta.
He was predeceased by his father, Donald Bruce Frost Sr.; a nephew, David DeRosa; and a grand-nephew, Andrew Raynor II.
A memorial service will be held in Hampton Bays this summer.
