In honor of Veterans Day, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a package of bills to enhance services and bolster protections for veterans, including legislation to provide military voters the opportunity to vote in school district elections. Julio Xajapsinai, 23, of Hampton Bays was arrested on Wednesday, November 6, at 2:18 a.m. by Southampton Town Police and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, as well as drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway among other various charges including driving with obstructed view and operating a vehicle without an inspection certificate.
