Enough Is Enough

Thank heaven, impeachment has finally ended!

Even before President Trump took office, the Democrats talked about impeaching him. Yes, before he did anything. Was it because they are such childish sore losers? Or their “Trump Derangement Syndrome”? Or the fact that our major media news journalists are over 86 percent registered Democrats, and 96 percent of news about Trump has been negative? Or perhaps even his promise to “Drain the Swamp” in Washington, D.C.? Maybe it was a combination of all those reasons.

Remember when both House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and U.S. Representative Adam Schiff both stated emphatically that you can’t impeach unless it is “bipartisan”? And then they stupidly did the thing they just said couldn’t be done. And their so-called “trial” in the House of Representatives was anything but “due process” — totally unfair to any thinking person. And not even one of their Democrat witnesses or experts said that a crime was committed.

George Washington warned us in his Farewell Address about political party strife. After teaching American history in Westhampton for 31 years, I must say that this was absolutely by far the worst example of political partisanship that has taken place since our “Founding Fathers” gave us such a wonderful Constitution.

Perhaps now our Congress can get to work and solve a few problems that we face. Oh, I forgot that now it’s time to campaign to beat Trump. Perhaps even a Democrat Communist or a multibillionaire will become the contender. Maybe Trump will again win our next election, and they will “Trump up” something to impeach him for again, and Pelosi can again giggle about his being impeached “forever.” And, Speaker Pelosi, he has also been acquitted “forever,” while you have demonstrated why politicians are usually among the least admired of all our professions.

Enough said — and may God bless the America that I love and served in the two top admired professions, as an educator and a citizen soldier.
