It has been a long time since I have written a Letter to the Editor. As a member of the Southampton Town community, I am honored to be running for Southampton Town justice as a Democrat this year.
Many of you know me as someone who has deep roots in Southampton Town, having lived in Hampton Bays since 2001, and having grown up in Sag Harbor. I graduated from Pierson High School in Sag Harbor in 1983.
There is both a judicial Democratic primary and Working Families Party primary in June. I am now asking for the support of all Democratic primary voters and Working Families Party primary voters in the primaries.
I am proud to have the support of the Southampton Town Democratic Committee as a registered Democrat. I have been serving as a member since 2002, as vice chairperson since 2010, and as chairperson since 2017 of the Southampton Town Zoning Board of Appeals. In this role, along with six other members, I have been hearing variance applications, interpretations of the Southampton Town zoning code, single and separate determinations, and other types of applications, and I have written hundreds of decisions.
I am also an attorney, having a solo private practice of law in Riverhead, with extensive experience handling a variety of litigation matters since 1993, including many areas of law heard in Southampton Town Justice Court. Early in my career as an attorney, between 1998 and 1999, I served as Riverhead Town attorney, where I gained valuable experience as well as knowledge of the operations of town government.
I am proud of my past and current work for the Town of Southampton. I am asking for your support, and your vote, so I can expand my 18 years of service in the Town of Southampton on the Zoning Board of Appeals as a fair and impartial Southampton Town justice.
