Frederick G. Blanchard of Hudson, Florida, died April 23. He was 96.
Born in Boston, he moved to Florida from Westhampton Beach in 1979. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Dowling College, graduating with honors. He was a veteran of World War II, serving for five years and achieving the rank of chief petty officer. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration with 35 years of service as an air traffic control specialist.
Mr. Blanchard was a member of several philatelic clubs and organizations. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and walking. He was a life member of Orient Lodge, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, in Norwood, Massachusetts.
He is survived by a son, Rick and wife Andrea and their daughter, Danielle; a daughter, Elizabeth; a granddaughter, Ryan and husband Lance, and their two children, Rylie and Lance Jr.; and another granddaughter, Amanda.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Faupel Funeral Home in Port Richey, Florida.
