The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center will host a ceremony recognizing the service and leadership of fire chiefs of color — past and present — representing departments from East Hampton to Southampton. The event will take place on Saturday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, at The Center, located at 551 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike in Bridgehampton. Performers across the South Fork were recently nominated for East End Arts Teeny Awards — an awards show dedicated to high school performing arts. From East Hampton’s Bonac Theater production of “Chicago,” Emma Hand earned a Lead Role in a Musical, Comedy nomination for her performance as Roxie Hart. The Watermill Center will host its community event, Open Spaces, on Saturday, May 31, from noon to 2 p.m. The day will open at with a land blessing and performance by Shinnecock artist Shane Weeks. Throughout the day there will be eight artist-led workshops, crafts, food trucks, and a scavenger hunt across the center’s 10 acres of wooded paths and gardens. In addition to Weeks, there will be performances and installations by Truth Colon, Alex Bard, Ross Wightman and Damien Davis.
