Francis J. Bourassa
Francis J. Bourassa of Eastport died at home on Friday, March 23, after a long illness. He was 74.
Born on March 11, 1938 in North Adams, Massachusetts, he was the son of Alfred and Victoria (Kendrick) Bourassa. A graduate of Drury High School in 1955, he entered the U.S. Navy in July of that year, serving as an air traffic controller for 10 years. After his military service, he worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as a controller at Islip MacArthur Airport for 28 years. He retired in 1996.
He is survived by a son Frank Jr., and a daughter Cindy of Eastport, as well as a sister, Nancy McShane of Williamstown, Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his wife Betty, who died on October 27, 2011, and a brother, Alfred Bourassa Jr., who died on August 12, 2011.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to a local food pantry.
