Harold Raynor
Harold Raynor of Westhampton died at Riverhead Care Center on July 12. He was 98.
Born in Westhampton on July 10, 1913, he was a master welder and innovative machine operator. He produced clam rakes and many other devices for the greater Westhampton area as well as the East End.
Mr. Raynor was known as the unofficial flag keeper for the Village of Westhampton Beach. He monitored the pole and raised the flag at the site daily for more than 30 years.
He is survived by nieces, nephews and friends; he was predeceased by his wife Helen in 2003.
The family received friends at the Follett & Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on Thursday, July 14. A funeral service was held on Friday, July 15, at the funeral home with the Reverend Charles Cary of the Westhampton Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment followed at Westhampton Cemetery.
