Harry A. Player Jr.
Harry A. Player Jr. of Westhampton Beach died at his home on Wednesday, March 21. He was 90.
Born in Rockaway to Harry and Mary Player, he served in the 15th U.S. Air Force in the European Theater during World War II. Later Mr. Player worked as a Dugan Bakery salesman for 20 years, serving customers in Port Jefferson. He also spent almost 20 years working in the Suffolk County courts.
He is survived by his sister, Dorothy Elaine Simmons of Oceanside; children, David and his wife Beth of Ohio, and Judy of Florida; two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces. Mr. Player was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sybil Mae Player (née Young) in 2003.
A memorial service was held on Monday, March 26, at the Follett & Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach. Interment followed at Calverton National Cemetery.
