Helen Downes Labrozzi

Helen Downes Labrozzi of Sag Harbor died on February 15 in Port Jefferson. She was 93.

Born on November 11, 1919, in Southampton, she was the daughter of William J. and Helen Jones Downes, both of whom predeceased her. She graduated from Pierson High School.

Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Labrozzi, she is survived by a son, Joseph W. Labrozzi Sr. and his wife Mary; five grandchildren, Theresa Labrozzi, Joseph Labrozzi Jr. and his wife Leslie, Cheryl Labrozzi McMahon and her husband Mark, Peter Labrozzi and his wife Angela, and Michael Labrozzi; and two great-grandchildren, Meagan McMahon and Daniel Labrozzi.

Funeral services were held on Monday, February 18, at St. Andrew’s Church in Sag Harbor. Arrangements were under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sag Harbor Volunteer Ambulance of the Sag Harbor Fire Department, Box 2725, Sag Harbor, New York 11963.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
