As we enter another election season, I want to remind candidates, campaigns and supporters that under village code, Chapter 116-13 H.(4)(b), political signs are not allowed in the right of way. The right of way includes the grassy shoulder of the roadway.
If you wish to support your candidate, make sure the sign is placed back on your private property. In most instances, this will be behind the hedge line. A property survey may be reviewed to be more exact.
Any political signs found in the right of way will be removed.
