On Friday night, October 18, Town Supervisor Jay Schneiderman held a fundraising event at the Sebonack Golf Club. The mood at this event must have been rather gloomy, as the voters of East Quogue, on the day before, handed Mr. Schneiderman and his Discovery Land Company friends a major defeat in their quest to build yet another golf club — this time, over our aquifer in the Pine Barrens [“East Quogue Village Incorporation Is Rejected,” 27east.com, October 17].
The irony of Jay’s fundraiser event is that the past president of the Sebonack Golf Club, Mark Hissey, is also a senior vice president of Discovery Land Company.
So, my question to Mr. Schneiderman is … Do you think, like Trump, that just because you stage something in public, that makes it kosher?
