In Her Honor

We, the family of Paulette H. Brown, are respectfully seeking donations to the Paulette H. Brown Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Established in 1986 to commemorate the enduring service, leadership and citizenship attributes of alumna Paulette H. Brown (lovingly known as “Sis”), the memorial scholarship is awarded annually to Southampton High School graduates who embody these qualities.

Sis, of the Shinnecock Nation, was an Honor Graduate of Southampton High School, an esteemed member of Adelphi University Ela Chi Alpha and Delta Mu Delta Honor Societies, as well as a recipient of a prestigious Adelphi Trustee Scholarship. She was also an elected elder of the Long Island Presbytery in the Shinnecock Presbyterian Church and an active participant in the honorable drum group Youngblood Singers, among many other social and cultural groups.

While the Paulette H. Brown Memorial Scholarship was initially established with Shinnecock students in mind, it has also been awarded to non-indigenous applicants who have met the qualifications. To date, nearly 56 graduates have received more than $100,000 through the Paulette H. Brown Memorial Scholarship.

Our family is committed to the legacy of funding the academic needs of Southampton High School students who strive to attain their personal goals and professional potential.

However, our ability to uphold this effort relies on your support. We hope you will join us honoring Sis’s memory of ensuring the continued advancement of our East End community’s children.

Donation checks may be made payable to Southampton School District, with “Paulette H. Brown Scholarship” on the memo line, and sent to: Attn: Eileen Noonan, Southampton School District, 70 Leland Lane, Southampton, NY 11968.

We are grateful for anything you can contribute by the current school year’s end.
