Irene Fedun
Irene Fedun of Jamesport died at the Westhampton Care Center on Friday, October 28. She was 86.
Born in Rykacze, Poland, on February 14, 1925, one of three children of Peter and Alexandra Mioduszewski, she was raised in Quogue and graduated from Westhampton Beach High School in 1944. After graduating, she worked at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.
She married Edward Fedun in 1955. After having children, she worked as a teacher’s aide at Riley Avenue Elementary School for 10 years before retiring.
Ms. Fedun was an excellent cook and she enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, golfing and her card groups.
She is survived by her husband Edward of Jamesport; children, Sandy and her husband Norman Tyte of East Quogue, Michael and his wife Karen Fedun of East Quogue, and Patrick and his wife Deirdre Fedun of Laurel; a sister, Wanda Yancy of Arizona; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Stanley Miodus.
The family received friends on Saturday, November 5, at a funeral Mass at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church in Riverhead.
