Janet Bonawandt
Janet Bonawandt of Hampton Bays died on March 26 after a valiant 13-year battle with breast cancer. She was 63.
Ms. Bonawandt and her husband, Karl, owned the Matrix Development Corporation.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Michael W. Bonawandt and his wife Diane of Manorville, Karl T. Bonawandt and his wife Tara of Westhampton and Christopher J. Bonawandt and his wife Camila of Flushing; a daughter, Amanda, and her husband William Krzenski of Southampton; and seven grandchildren, Lauren and Jack Bonawandt, Celia, Lily and Leo Bonawandt, and Kirra and Camerson Krzenski. She is also survived by her brother Stephen J. McGreevy of Selden, and her lifelong friend Loretta Tramuta. She was predeceased by a brother, William McGreevy.
Visiting hours were at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on Thursday and Friday, March 29 and 30. A funeral service was held at Christ Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Hampton Bays on March 31, followed by interment at Good Ground Cemetery.
