John F. Van Deventer Jr. of Southampton died on June 27. He was 57.

He is survived by his wife, Roseann “Sann” Van Deventer, and a son, 
John F. Van Deventer III. He is also survived by a sister, Tina Maillefert of Maryland.

Funeral services are under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.

Hampton Bays School District residents will be asked to vote for a $67,495,698 budget for the 2025-26 school year on Tuesday, May 20. Eastport-South Manor School District voters will decide on a tax-cap compliant budget on Tuesday, May 20, and also cast votes in the Board of Education race, in which three incumbents are running unopposed.
