Jon-Henri 'Skip' Bonnard Dies on May 1

Jon-Henri “Skip” Bonnard died May 1 of esophageal and colon cancer. He was 76.

A nephew of the French impressionist Henri Bonnard, he worked as a newspaper columnist in the Hamptons, and managed the Millenium Art Gallery in East Hampton. He settled in Lake Worth in 2002 and, for a while, managed an art gallery on Lake Avenue. He was active in Lake Worth’s recovery community and on May 4 would have celebrated 41 years of sobriety. He was mentor to many seeking recovery, survivors said.

A raconteur with a vast and sometimes acerbic knowledge of fashion and the arts, for many years he co-hosted the syndicated talk show “Sudsy Says” on WLNG in Sag Harbor. His co-host was Nedda di Montezemolo, known as “Mrs. Sudsy.” The show was briefly reprised on a Lantana radio station in 2013.

Mr. Bonnard is survived by Ms. diMontezemolo of Washington, D.C., and Camila Eran Hastings of Florida.

A memorial service was held on May 26 at Mother Earth Sanctuary Cafe in Lake Worth.
