Joseph Garrison Of Remsenburg Dies September 20

Joseph Garrison of Remsenburg died on September 20. He was 72.

Mr. Garrison was born May 16, 1944, in Brooklyn to Margaret and Willard Garrison, both of whom predeceased him. He was raised in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, and Grosse Pointe, Michigan, and graduated from Kalamazoo College and the University of Michigan.

After time in the U.S. Navy as a first lieutenant, he started a career in the financial industry in Manhattan.

In retirement, he served as a board member of Bideawee, and was a member of the University Club in Manhattan and the Westhampton Yacht Squadron.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Garrison was predeceased by a brother, John P. Garrison. He is survived by a sister, Ann Garrison Simmonds of Michigan; sister-in-law, Karen Garrison of Michigan; nieces, Judy Walls of Colorado, Suzanne Dunton of Chicago, Elizabeth Bageris of Michigan; and a nephew, Thomas Simmonds and wife Angela of Michigan; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Kevin, Scott, Alexandra, John and Lila.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 1, at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Quiogue.

Hampton Bays School District residents will be asked to vote for a $67,495,698 budget for the 2025-26 school year on Tuesday, May 20.
