Judith A. Trafford
Judith A. Trafford of Hampton Bays died on January 7 at Good Shepherd Hospice after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 65.
Ms. Trafford worked at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club for 37 years, most recently as its comptroller.
Ms. Trafford and her husband, Lester, who survives her, had been married for 28 years and lead very active lives. They loved to travel and snorkel as often as they could. Ms. Trafford also loved horses and animals, especially her dogs. Her gardens produced a magnificent yard each year and she was an accomplished photographer, survivors said.
She is survived by a daughter, Janessa Larsen and her husband James Larsen II of North Carolina; her mother-in-law, Marlene Trafford of Hampton Bays; a sister-in-law, Joyce Hillendahl and husband John of Hampton Bays; and two brothers-in-law, Brian Trafford and wife Sue of Riverhead and Rodney Trafford of Hampton Bays; and several cousins.
On Friday evening, January 11, the Hampton Bays Fire Department held a prayer service at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays to honor their member’s wife. The Reverend Gerald Collins, interim minister at the Church of St. Mary in Hampton Bays, conducted a funeral service at the church on Saturday, January 12.
