Kevin Strand
Kevin M. Strand, a lifelong resident of Hampton Bays, died on February 12. He was 46.
Born at Southampton Hospital to Eileen (Kraemer) and Eric Strand on July 30, 1966, he was a graduate of Hampton Bays High School. Mechanically inclined all his life, he repaired cars and trucks throughout high school and after graduation went to work first for Mulvey Plumbing and then for Hardy Plumbing and Heating, where he stayed for many years. Two years ago he started his own plumbing business, KC Plumbing and Heating.
Mr. Strand was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his mother, Eileen Strand; a daughter, Samantha and her mother, Sally, of Hampton Bays; a son, Brandon Griffing of Florida; a brother, Donald Strand of Glenville, and his children, Kristin and Donald Jr. (DJ), and their mother Donna of Mastic; a sister, Cathleen Strand O’Shea, and her sons Nicholas Strand, Thomas O’Shea and Reilly Strand.
Visiting hours were held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home on February 14. A funeral service was held at the funeral home on February 15, with the Reverend Jeremy Herr, assistant pastor of the Eastport Bible Church, officiating.
