Lifelong Southampton Village resident Paul R. Dox died on August 19 at Southampton Hospital. He was 56.
Born on October 31, 1952, at Southampton Hospital, he attended Southampton Public Schools and Southampton College. He worked for Herrick Hardware as a salesman for many years.
An avid lover of photography and nature, Mr. Dox tended vegetable gardens that provided his family and friends with a bountiful harvest every year, family members recalled this week.
He is survived by a daughter, Rachel Calkins of Arizona; his mother, Regina Dox of Southampton; and two brothers, Kirk Dox of East Quogue and John L. Dox III of Southampton. He was predeceased by his father, John L. Dox, a sister, Leslie Dox, and his companion, Katherine Prior.
Visitation was held on August 24 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.
