Louise M. Ciambra
Louise M. Ciambra of Hampton Bays died at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson on Tuesday, October 25. She was 77.
Ms. Ciambra moved to Hampton Bays in the late 1960s and lived right next to her parents Anthony and Rose Ciambra in the house that they built for her. She never married but was very close to her nieces and nephews and was considered more a grandmother than an aunt.
She worked for Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center and also as a lab technician at John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson. She was a volunteer, in the tradition of her mother, Rose, for the Dominican Sisters Family Health Service in Hampton Bays. Charities were important to her and her favorites were St. Jude’s Hospital and various animal organizations.
She was very kind, hardworking, and devoted to her family and close friends. She was always a giver of time, attention and love, family said.
Ms. Ciambra is survived by her niece, Theresa Ayotte and her husband Andy of Fort Drum, Jean Romano of Florida, Rosanne Ciambra of Florida, Lauren Romano of Glen Cove; great-nieces and nephews, Timothy, Anthony, Meghan and Mollie of Fort Drum; uncle and aunts, Bobby and his wife Terry Ciambra of Connecticut, Georgine Ciambra of Glen Cove; and cousins, Anthony and Nancy Sorrentino of Patchogue, and Brenda, Carl and Chris Ferrando of Hampton Bays. She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene Ciambra.
