On what turned out to be a lovely late spring evening, the Westhampton Beach Historical Society hosted its opening season fundraiser, “Splash Into Summer,” among the beautiful gardens newly installed by the Westhampton Garden Club.
The 2023 exhibit on display in the Tuthill House Museum titled “Our Local Waters Throughout History” was open for guests to peruse. Also, the Foster Meeker House was open for guests to visit and marvel at how far the restoration has proceeded.
The very friendly bartender was Vern Hackworth, oysters were donated and opened by Bart Birk of the Happy Oyster, ice was provided by Gillin Fisheries, and we were delighted with the music of Jim Hulme and Chuck Finch. Aram Terchunian of First Coastal provided the fencing, Jim Barlow lent us his tent and tables, Westhampton Presbyterian Church lent us tables and chairs, Abby Ketner made us a beautiful charcuterie board, and the following local shops and restaurants donated delicious appetizers: Hampton Aristocrat, Mill Road Cheese Shop, Justin’s Chop Shop, Tonino’s Pizza and Sydney’s Taylor Made Cuisine.
We are grateful to all who donated and supported our event and to all the volunteers who, in big and small ways, made the night possible.
