Former Southampton resident Marjorie Meschutt McMahon of Southold died on March 21 at her home after a brief illness. She was 87.
Born July 17, 1921, in Greenport to Emma (née Sayre) and Stephen F. Meschutt, she spent her childhood in Peconic on the North Fork. She moved with her family to Southampton, where she met her future husband, James D. McMahon of Sag Harbor.
She is survived by four sons and their wives, Jeffery McMahon and Jayme of Southampton, Stephen McMahon and Marcia of Water Mill, James Craig McMahon and Audrey of Mattituck and Dennis McMahon and Brigid of Greenport; two daughters, Karen and her husband Tom Uhlinger of Cutchogue and Barbara McMahon of Colorado; a sister, June Magee of Southampton; and 14 grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Alice DeWeese.
The family received friends on March 24 at the Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton. A private interment was held on March 25.
