Mary Brown
Mary Brown of Union Springs, New York, formerly of Riverhead, died at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse on Friday, June 10, following a lengthy illness. She was 47.
Born in Riverhead, she was the daughter of Jack E. and Mary F. Testani Phillips Sr. Ms. Brown was a graduate of Westhampton Beach High School and was a medical assistant before becoming ill. She was an avid quilter and a member of a local sewing guild. Recently, she became a master gardener through Cornell Cooperative Extension in Riverhead.
In addition to her parents who live in Quogue, Ms. Brown is survived by her husband, Darrell Todd Brown of Union Springs; her son, Michael P. Marzano and his wife Heather; her daughter Mary Samantha Marzano; siblings, Burr H.D. Phillips and his wife Patti of New Hampshire, Jack E. Phillips Jr. and his wife Renee of Arkport, and Bruce N. Phillips and his wife Isabella of East Quogue, Susan E.P. Phillips and her husband Neal Bataller of Maryland; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Nancy Miller and her husband Harry and Cathy Messenger.
Visitation was held Monday, June 13, at Langham Funeral Home in Auburn. A graveside service and burial will be held Saturday, June 18, at 11 a.m., at East Quogue Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Follett & Werner Funeral Home.
