Michael Francis McCarthy, Formerly Of Southampton, Dies June 3 In Maine

Michael Francis McCarthyMichael Francis McCarthy of South Berwick, Maine, formerly of Southampton, died on June 3, 2013, his family by his side. He was 75.

Mr. McCarthy was born on December 26, 1937, in Southampton, the son of the Herb and Ruth McCarthy, both of whom predeceased him.

Survivors said that wherever he found himself in life, he always carried in his heart the East End of Long Island, Shinnecock Bay and Three Mile Harbor. He was never happier than when on a boat rounding the first buoy, they said.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; a son, Mack; and his godmother, Queenie Gilmartin, as well as many family and friends.

A memorial Mass will be observed at the Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton on Saturday, July 13, at 10:30 a.m. Condolences may be left at www.lucaseatonfuneralhome.com.
